Which Garmin VENU2 or VENU2Plus is better? Why I chose VENU2?

gear

Garmin sells highly functional smartwatches.
Among them, the VENU2 has a simple design that can be used in the city, but also offers a full range of functions, including GPS, pedometer, and Suica.

The VENU2 has an upgraded version called VENU2Plus.
The price difference is about 5,000 yen and the only difference in function is “Bluetooth voice call capability.

If you don’t need the calling feature, choose the previous model, the VENU2!

On the other hand, those who want to make calls only with the watch, those who tend to leave their phones at a distance in the house, and those who want to use Google Assistant and other services should choose the VENU2Plus, which supports calls.

In my case, I use my phone for calls, so the VENU2 is sufficient.
And the thing I didn’t like most about the new VENU2Plus was the ringtone from the watch.
I chose the VENU2, which has no speaker to begin with, because I was in danger of making the sound on the train.

Smartwatches of the same series. Please refer to them to see which one suits your usage.

Functional Differences

The main difference in functionality is whether or not there is a microphone/speaker. Different voice functions can do different things.

I can talk.

You can answer an incoming call to a linked smartphone or make a call on the watch itself. (within Bluetooth range).

However, you cannot see the history of incoming calls, so you need to operate your phone if you want to call back.

The only time you would use the watch would be to make a quick call when you are at home and do not have your phone with you, such as while charging your phone.
If you use it outside, your phone is usually in your pocket, so there is no need to use the watch to make a call (And you can hear the other person’s voice around you.)

Voice assistant available

Siri and Google Assistant can be controlled from a wristwatch, which may be useful for those who control smart appliances such as switch bot.

However, Alexa is not yet supported.
